I’d like to say “life comes at you fast” but Bennet has basically been running wild over the Times op-ed page for four years. He hid behind the idea of “intellectual diversity,” but whatever intellectual conservatism looks like, it sure wasn’t to be found in the conservatives on the NYT editorial page under Bennet.

Yes, it was very good. And, for that matter, so was Ender’s Game.

1. Board seat isn’t really his “job”, more of a position of influence as you mention.
2. The article spend 2/3 talking about how it’s significant but never really makes any points? I guess the only point being made is that there’s still bad stuff on reddit (aka T_D).

Given the big bold clickbait headline, even if the

I think you’re being a little harsh on this guy. He accomplished something pretty difficult to do at this stage of the protest; he made this about himself. That’s got to count for something.

It should be said that for year’s De Blasio’s unpopularity was solely because white people hated him, and viewed him as pretty much a race traitor for daring to offer even mild criticisms of the NYPD and for prioritizing other policies in the city during his first term. At one point, he had job approval numbers of 78

Mr. Dubey....you are a patriot and a decent human being. You’re what really makes this country great.

Aww, c’mon. I love NextDoor. My new quarantine hobby has been trolling racists and rich ppl on it. Try it with me, I swear it’s fun.

“This is by far the fastest that we’ve ever charged a police officer.”

We’ll likely never know, but my assumption was that if he’s this abusive in public he’s almost certainly abusive at home. Possibly she’s taking this opportunity while he’s in custody to start proceedings while he’s unable to physically retaliate.

You don’t suppose Derek might also have a history of domestic violence. do you?

It won’t help her save face. Cops, cop supporters, all his cop friends, and all white supremacist society will drop her. Cops are often, sooo often domestic abusers and this guy had an exceptionally violent record.

If he was violent with her, and chances are he was, why put her down? If she wants to protect her image, she would pander to all the cops and cop supporters and stand by him.

That's what I initially assumed, but a brutal thug like this is probably no different at home. Maybe the general condemnation broke through the cycle of violence and made her realize that it's not ok.

Soooooo... during the Renaissance?

I mean, hyperbole is a thing.

I remember when Lifehacker would teach the audience how to set up a Linux-based media server on an old laptop or something. Stuff that required actual work and thinking and left you with a sense of minor accomplishment. Those days are long gone.

A hundred times this. On my work slack, this is pretty much protocol. “Hey, could you approve this thing?” Thumb up. “Can you close out this entry?” Thumb up. “How’s the project going along?” (longwinded paragraph). Original asker responds with thumb up.

and y’all thought dying on the “one or two spaces after a period” hill was important.

Thanks for the laugh. Not sure if this tops thawing my food in my washing machine, but Lifehacker has been killing it lately.

Are the writers here just bored anymore? Doctor of opinions over here trying to fluff that paycheck. Imagine thinking using periods right now in the world is an issue that warrants this type of write up...
