(a) they are unlikely to at this point

Also, its okay to do treason as long as a family member of some politician somewhere also maybe might have done something sketchy one time.

I totally understand what you’re saying. Personally, I try to do a lot, as well as attempt to educate others, as a science communicator, about just how massive and life-threatening a problem this is. Should I pat myself on the back? Is it “enough”? No, of course not. What could possibly be enough at this point?

I’m going to take an opposite stance: Elizabeth Warren is the candidate I’d most like to have a beer with. She’s brilliant, she’s got a great sense of humor, and she seems interesting.

Totally agree. Reminds me of the idea that people would vote for Bush the Lesser because they “could have a beer with him” - I don’t want a president I’m comfortable having a beer with.  I want a president so intelligent, with such a grasp of the issues, that I’m terrified I’ll say something stupid in their presence

I wish we would shut the fuck up about white working class voters. They’re a lost cause and hell bent on voting against their own self-interest. We’ve had two Democratic Presidents when two consecutive terms without them, yet we’re obsessed with courting those five living Reagan Democrats. Those people will never vote

Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ win streak is maybe the most defensible of all the HBO stuff—at least the first couple of years of it anyways. I think there were a couple of years in that run from 2012-2017 when she was the clear winner in the lead actress category. But HBO’s power within the industry clearly helps.

Game of Thrones won Outstanding Drama, Schitt’s Creek didn’t win Outstanding Comedy and Catherine O’Hara didn’t win Best Actress.

the 2019 Emmys are now the Emmy equivalent of GoT season 8. some high points but mostly a ton of WTF?

The only issue I take with this is that people forget that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was progressive at the time. It replaced an outright ban on LGBT people in the military (which Republicans were trying to enshrine into federal law). Don’t get me wrong, by 2011 it needed to go, but in 1994 it was bleeding edge progress.

I’ve learned that the best jobs tend to be ones where they’re just giving you money to do a job and go home. Every place I’ve worked that had a “mission” or some kind of lofty goal was an absolute dumpster fire, and then tried to guilt everyone into accepting shitty conditions, treatment, or pay because it was “for

I’m still pissed about the Stupid Girls video. It has obviously aged like shit, but even at the time it was painful to watch. I’m glad she defended Jessica Simpson (is that growth?), but it’s like she picks the women she does and doesn’t like and decides whether it’s their fault they’re having a hard time. Eating

Exactly this. You don’t need an elaborate skincare routine as a teen, but a simple skincare routine is as important as other hygiene and grooming habits. It’s something we don’t talk to teens about unless they have really stubborn acne and that’s a shame.

My best guesses as to why the fake use:

In all honesty adults don’t really need it either, or at least they don’t need the super intense skincare routines that involve millions of products. I mean people do it for fun, which is perfectly fine, but your skin really only needs a good cleanser, moisturizer, and the occasional exfoliation. Everything else is

I feel like Stefan from SNL should describe this post . . . “It has EVERYTHING - racism, misogyny, creepy adult sexualization of children.”

It’s NOT. Frankly I’d have the police have a chat with that person because it skates child porn.

No one has even stopped to think that teenagers can outgrow their clothes quite suddenly, having growth spurts is almost part of the definition of adolescence. I remember one year growing maybe 2 or 3 inches and my pants being quite short unexpectedly.. Also as someone said below, one piece clothing doesn’t fit every s

It’s not irrelevant from an academic standpoint. Famously good sports teams, particularly basketball and football, which as we’ve seen are predominantly black, even at schools where black students make up 2.4% of the population, are a draw for students of all kinds. And drawing more students means more tuition and

The GOP is scared that if people follow Hill’s, well thought-out and explained reasoning, that suddenly their Ivy League Alma Maters’s sports teams are going to start sucking horribly.

First of all, I’m so sorry for whatever trauma you experienced. If you’re anything like me, the Trump era has been a fucking nightmare because of that and I’m sorry you have to go through it. As to your comment, it is true that these Biden issues are different than sexual assault, but in my mind they fit perfectly
