Doesn’t know what the fuck she’s talking about, and was given a large platform to disseminate completely false information. Like, shouldn’t people have at least a basic understanding of how things work before they’re allowed to discuss things in front of a very large and impressionable audience?

Bingo. The View’s purpose to me seems to present topical issues in a panel of women who represent the disparate views (oh I get it now) of America.

If they can’t\won’t grasp objective scientific fact like “the morning after pill prevents conception, therefore there literally is no life to end” then it’s honestly best for your mental health not to engage at all. It’s absolutely the same as trying to convince a flat-Earther that the world is round.

Jesus Irving Christ. What is Meghan McCain if not the face of white privilege? I read some interview with her a few years back where she basically railed against “elites” which seemed to be anyone with a college degree. This from someone whose mother is an heiress, her father a US senator; who grew up in 12 different

Honestly, in my experience, the “bodily autonomy” gets them to “you’re supporting murder” faster than talking about the realities of reproductive medicine and women’s health. It’s just so hard.

For one week I’d like to know what if feels like to be a total fucking idiot who’s blond and pretty enough to sail through life so easily.

Honestly, I’m still stuck on that dumbass comparison that Hasselbeck made. I mean Jesus fucking Christ. THAT is why you shouldn’t have had the discussion, Barbara. Not because of her dramatics, but because Hasselbeck doesn’t even know what the fuck she’s talking about. Holy shit I know I say it here every day, but I

Being a woman or a man is now entirely in your head.

“In this climate, who would challenge someone with a beard exposing their penis in a women’s changing room?”

Had to make sure we knew his penis is too big for his pants.

Congratulations on leaving what is easily the most deranged comment I’ve ever received in my year of working at Jezebel lol.

It doesn’t matter what size your labia is with this outfit. It matters whether you plan to move your legs more than one millimeter apart while wearing it. Because if your legs move, your labia move, and that bodysuit will end up cutting you in half in a way that is so painful that, you, being a man - can’t even

What got me when listening to the ABC podcast about her was how many people referred to her as “highly/well-educated”. Uh...no. A major part of her story is how dropped out of college, albeit a prestigious one. Her high school education may have been first-rate, but it was still just a high school education.

Yeah, ever compare an alto sax with a baritone sax? an octave is a large range.

Dropping your speaking voice by a full octave is a lot. Most people don’t have a vocal range wide enough to drop their standard speaking voice by a full octave and *then* account for the full range of dynamic inflection. That’s why she ‘bottoms out’ for lack of a better word.

Given this guy’s professional background and education and his elite, prestigious workplace, I was horrified to hear his reasoning.

An octave is a pretty massive shift for the human voice.

A couple of feminist friends took me to task for saying Holmes faked her voice. They said higher octaves don’t help women in the workplace, which I don’t argue with, and she only “lowered her voice an octave,” which in their minds wasn’t fake. I say she lowered it way TOO much, and that’s what makes it fake.

Probably as soon as she became fully cognizant of how men respond to blondes.

What’s the most infuriating to me is there were many people sounding the alarms. There was tons of evidence something was wrong. People just chose to ignore it.
