The problem I have is when patients get their diagnoses but then family and friends and medical professionals all go “but you can fight it!” and fail to inform the patient what exactly that looks like. It is almost universally horrifying. The hospital is a terrible place to die, family and friends present or not.

She may still be alive now, but if she truly has cancer in her brain and lungs and is in hospital, she probably won’t be for much longer.
