It always makes think about James Gunn. He wrote some of the nastiest things someone could write on twitter but was given a pass by far too many people because he was a very outspoken liberal. No one should be given a pass for bullshit behavior no matter which side of the political spectrum they fall on.

It can be two (or three or four or seven or ten) things, but yeah, Ted’s habit of trying to brute force his way into happiness and mental health through sheer force of will seems to be a way of coping with a much earlier trauma.

I’m pretty positive Ted’s aversion to therapy has less to do with marriage counseling and more to do with the lack of counseling he received after whatever happened to his dad. All signs point to not an accident or body illness.

I give both episodes As. After more than 7 seasons of never showing anything more physically intimate between Holt and Kevin than hand-holding (at least that I can remember—and I’ve been watching and waiting for it), we finally get full-on, swooningly romantic kissing in the rain...and then another kiss at their

I didn’t like it?

Christ, even in fiction Spurs can't stop being Spursy.

I’ve been reading the backlash to Ted Lasso online, and I’ve come to the conclusion that people are starting to forget what the name of this show means. A lot of people seem to be caught up in the fate of Richmond, or of Nate, Beard, or even Rebecca, as if those situations are the crux of the narrative.

Parking the bus isn’t a bold offensive strategy; if anything, it’s the opposite of that: everyone behind the ball and hope to hit the opposition on the break (which is what happened in the show). Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur) as the superior team had to go for all-out for the win. In so doing they made themselves

As much as I think the Matrix sequels are... fine, there’s something appealing to me about a filmmaker returning to the franchise that made their career after 20+ years behind the camera, and giving it another go.

Turns out Franco’s trending because some people are convinced that is voice is in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.

Roy fucking Kent. It’s schmaltzy, but Roy walking into the stadium feels so cathartic. Brett Goldstein walks like a boss.

Given that this episode features a significant development in Roy becoming a coach, which I am presuming was part of the initial episode order, I don’t believe the two episodes they added were in succession.

I don’t get some of the criticism about consequences here since, as you mention, they’re clearly setting up a confrontation with Nate. Ted Lasso has clearly set up a world where there aren’t global consequences, it’s about the personal relationships and conflicts of the characters. The effect of relegation I don’t

Dude, it's a what if story. It's meant to be cheeky somewhat wish fulfillment. Stop saying Mary Sue.

I’m as big a Peggy Carter fanboy as anyone, but this episode was way better than last week’s. I didn’t think Hayley Atwell did as convincing a job as Captain Carter as she has in the other Marvel properties, and the action and plotting seemed pretty rote, as if the writers were determined to touch every plot button

This one is an A in my book. I really loved the conceit that T’Challa would reform the Ravagers and the effects that would spiral out from that. Thanos and Korath were great fun in their new roles. I do wonder what happened with Ronan, and if they’re going to be making a conscious effort to avoid the Infinity Stones

“I think you might be dying...” was the line delivery of the year. I can honestly say I’ve never seen anyone portray one’s soul leaving their body as well as Brett Goldstein did there.

I’m pretty sure that was just Sudeikis doing a funny voice, but that was 100% Waddingham singing, much as it was in the karaoke scene back in Season 1. She has said she’s not sure there’s any logic to a football club owner having the voice of a West End star, but the writers insisted.

If the adults don’t want to get up off the sofa, yes.

I can’t speak for every English person, but I only know that Darlene Love song because of the episode of New Girl where Nick arranges for her to sing it for Jess (in a scene very similar to the one in this episode).
