As a native European living in the US and long time F1 viewer, I definitely welcome an additional team, especially from the US and with the involvement of a racing legend like the Andretti family (I work in automotive in Michigan and my employer is heavily involved with GM). I’m also excited for Audi to join F1, being

Whether or not they do is your employer’s choice (it increases the rates). Your employer will typically tell you and the health insurance issues a letter for the auto insurance,

The 1999 - 2002 Saab 9-3 key fob was similar in button placement, but made of fairly cheap-feeling rubber, though it felt nice in your hand ergonomically, and it was slip resistant.

I would argue that hitting a pothole is avoidable by better road maintenance that would prevent the pothole from existing in the first place. It’s no one’s fault, but someone’s responsibility.

I guess the takeaway is that, if you absolutely have no other choice than to rent from Hertz, to never ever extend your rental. Just bring it back in and start a new rental, inconvenient as that would be. It still beats getting arrested.

Had to replace the fuel door actuator on our 2007 Kia Sedona. It required removal of the (5' x 2') interior trim piece that covers the entire inside from the rear door past the third row, to the rear hatch. Removing that required removing the rear door and rear hatch trims. Getting to the actuator also required

Did you not hear him say that he is just using that to illustrate how it works?

My thought exactly. I would have a raised garage added that is always above the waterline, even when submerged to the lowest intended depth. You know, one with a big enough elevator for anything up to an overlanding luxury RV.

That’s awesome. Way back when my 1999 Saab 9-3 2.2TiD MT came without cruise control. All it needed was the indicator stalk with the controls on it. Swapped that out and it worked right off the bat.

LOL. We sold a perfectly serviced and upgraded 34' Cummins Diesel Pusher for $15k in October. And that was a lot more than we paid for it 15 months earlier. It could sleep 6 (4 comfortably) and seat 6, 2 with 3-point belts and 4 with lap belts.

Yup. We both drive both of our cars and I’d hate to have to figure out my perfect seat position for an hour every time. I refuse to buy any vehicle without at least driver seat memory.

Living in West Michigan, the first thing I invested in when I bought my first house here was a whole house humidifier that is integrated in the furnace air ducting. Next thing was central air and a dehumidifier with a drain hose (for the basement, obviously). Keeping the basement dry also keep the humidity in the rest

Ha, right. I just now remembered that even my 2009 Audi has that function built into the indicator stalk.

I remember seeing those around when I was a kid. I thought they were the coolest thing on the road with their futuristic looks and what not. Nice find!

Like the AMG G-Class?

These are certainly some of the best-sounding engines ever made. I would say that the VR5 sounds better than a straight 5, even.

May I quote the fist clause of the German traffic code as per this earlier article (https://jalopnik.com/germany-continues-debate-over-ending-unlimited-speed-se-1848390727):

It sure did. I always go just the speed limit, because why wouldn’t I?

I ran into some VW engineers test driving a Veyron well over 10 years ago at a rest stop on the A2 between Hannover and Berlin. Had a chat with them and asked them if they ever achieve top speed outside of Ehra-Lessin. They said the A2 on an early Sunday morning (no semis) works just fine.
