"Who'd have Sonic?"

You seem distraught. Have a Kleenex.

Mike Resnick imbued a number of African myths, legends and allegories of recent African history into his various science fiction works (Kirinyaga, Seven Views of Olduvai Gorge, Ivory, Paradise/Purgatory/Inferno, etc.).

Called a "Couatl" without the needless frippery of "Quetzal."

Good point…but still awesome to imagine. Although, come to think of it, the idea of a trickster deity bringing animation "reality" into our world has been done: 1994's "The Mask."

Like the Aksumite Empire, then.

You can choose your friends, but not your mythos.

Either form was an incredible proof to the men in chains that Anansi exists apart from, and above, mere mortals. At one point, the spider was superimposed over Orlando Jones' head — combining the two forms (as trickster deities are wont to do).

Tripping over her lines while speaking gibberish was part of the character.

My Pugs were able to get into plenty of trouble without teleportation powers. And one of them was blind.

Lockjaw will be played by a normal Pug. Look how well it's working for Baby Groot!

Trip's death was about as senseless as Tasha Yar's nearly 30 years(!) ago. Neither of them died heroically — Trip was in the wrong place, and Tasha was struck down to show viewers that an evil being was, in fact, evil.

BJ Britt hasn't wanted for work these past few years. But with Pitch cancelled, maybe his schedule is open again.

The show even name-checked Ultron as the *VERY* recent example of exactly WHY we shouldn't make sentient AIs…yet here we are.

He has quite literally grown as an actor.

I defer to your expertise, which is clearly based on an extensive dive into the author's oeuvre….

She paid homage to "The Man in the High Castle" and simply assumed the show's audience would get it. That was either a big risk…or Samantha Bee REALLY knows her audience demographics.

Perfect. Thanks!
