It seems like every platinum game is ruined for me by some mix of terribly cheesy dialog, embarrassing/oversexualized characters, or unnecessarily obtuse control schemes.

I definitely won't argue that... I've seen gameplay footage of some guys who really got into the game and I feel like the game is an experience that no other game has really even attempted before or since. Elements like what you see in Mirror's Edge show up in other games, but nothing to the same degree it does. I

...that Space Invader came from the moon.

A couple of weeks ago Nintendo sent me an Amiibo to check out. Here's where that Amiibo is right now: roughly a

Since the weapons and armour in the VoG aren't as powerful as the new ones found in the post expansion vendor catalog and raid there is zero reason to play it - unless you're running low on ascendant materials. That's a shame, as I think it is a lot of fun to play.

its more than just that, older games(and for disclosure, i started playing with dig dug in 1987) the control schemes have gotten a lot better. many games had your character move at one speed, so no dashing dodges, no dodging mechanic, limited jumping abilities that often had non controllable jumps, and the lack of

That is clearly the pathetic console version that is CLEARLY holding the better PC version back, console plebs will be the deaht of gaming, long live gaben. long live the pc master race. you twats go play your stupid mario on your dumb ps4s and master chef edition on your crappy underpowered wee you console.

Oh, my bad. When I say it shouldn't be gamified, I don't mean like, we shouldn't explore romance in games. I love it when we explore romance in games, and I do like (smart) dating sims. I packed some meaning that I didn't explain into the word there—typically people associate bad things with 'gamifying,' that is,

Perhaps the trophy shouldn't be awarded right that second but at the end of the scene? It should be simple to have the game start a wait command before it actually awards pressing it.

That only solves the immediate problem of it causing a distraction. It does not solve the bigger problem of it being fucked up that a romance has a reward. Relationships should not be gamified, not if they want to go the full distance with creating believable characters.

Hey, MS says a lotta things....

If a game is on GOG and Steam, I buy it on GOG. If a game is more expensive on GOG than Steam (this is not all that often), I buy it on GOG. There are many reasons for this, and it's not always because I'm feeling particularly fundamentalist in my objection to DRM. I have multiple computers and occasionally just want

Oh, man, I love how delightfully and obnoxiously British this article is. "Everybody else's iconic historical periods can be reduced to shallow bastardized slaughterfests, but to capture the British spirit you need civilized nuance".

No Jap, no deal. Thanks :) I'm sure Gran Turismo 7 isn't that far away.

I've seen nothing but "I hate this game because of blank but man I can't stop playing it!" So unless you can see articles I can't see, they're hyping it for a reason. PUT YOUR FOIL BACK ON CITIZEN!

Are you and every other game blog getting paid to keep hyping Destiny. It seems like most of the writers can't stand it and are just addicted to it/play it because friends do, yet every day there's at least one Destiny article.

I really wish the rest of the game was as unique and challenging as the raid. I really wanted to like the game but it just lost my attention...

Say what you will about the game as a whole, but the fact that it's capable of sucking so many people back into it (me included) is a testament to how strong its core gameplay is. Even if Bungie didn't transition into the RPG/MMO genre with a triumphant roar like everyone hoped they would, their responsiveness to the
