bonus tip: every level has a hidden red medal which was a developer personal best time. they can be *significantly* harder to get than the ace. i have the switch wr on one of the later levels (ep8) and still don’t have red yet.
It depends on how far they go with the gameplay changes. If they redesign all of the combat encounters from scratch to take advantage of the AI, ability to go prone, etc. then they’re effectively making a whole new game.
I’m withholding a strong opinion until I see actual gameplay footage and how much that changed, since it seems like that’s where the biggest improvements will be. Based on stills of cutscenes alone it doesn’t seem necessary, but if the goal is to make part 1 feel totally seamless with part 2 in both gameplay and…
i don’t think that analogy holds up - hypebeasts regularly try to impress each other by spending on clothing they can’t actually afford. whales keep each other afloat just as much as the free to play players.
To make the alcohol example more relevant to john’s original article - if someone has a really good beer or visited a really cool brewery, should they be accountable if they write about it positively on a food blog just because your brother might read it and want to try it?
These things are just fundamental aspects of what keep people playing any game, microtransactions or not.
see alcohol isn’t regulated from the consumer side though so it’s more similar than one might assume from that perspective. there’s literally nothing stopping someone from blowing their paycheck at the liquor store and drinking themselves to death. yes there are some regulations at the production level and at the…
do you judge people who drink responsibly and talk about it positively the same way?
its the same thing with battlefield 2042 right now if you say you enjoy the game. deviating from the hivemind is swiftly punished
i’m an industry game programmer, and while i’ve had a few months of awful crunch, it hasn’t been as bad as some of my friends in other industries that never have their crunch talked about. hell, my dad works in the power sector and he works more overtime than i do despite only doing spreadsheet work. it’s a labor…
Pre coffee so this will be a little rambly i bet
strong disagree, returnal is one of the best shooters i’ve ever played
the only thing people are gonna laugh at here is your cringe "my sweet summer child" comments lol
battlefield had a scoreboard since day 1. it just wasn’t in the same form people wanted. It was a squad scoreboard and you could only see details of your squadmates, otherwise it was the collective stats of each squad. People saying “no scoreboard” are being disingenuous assholes, like a number of bf2042 complaints…
They’d have to re-light the maps entirely which would involve needing to make sure there are indestructible lights in important areas. IT’s not as simple as turning the sun down - look at how Zavod’s night operations map went in BF4. It’s cool the first couple times. Unfortunately you quickly realize it’s the same map…
It’s funny as a tank main, I enjoy the open maps more for the vehicle vs. vehicle combat. Hourglass is especially fun because you can use the dunes to aim higher and snipe helicopters with the cannon. Brilliant fun honestly. But yes, it’s a slog to get between points as anything but a vehicle player.
Shocking that a game about ancient Rome would be made by a bunch of right wing internet chuds
Also this bill makes any expression of gender exploration punishable under the law. If an amab kid wears a skirt to school, the teacher is legally required to report it to CPS. That's super fucked up.
Gender affirming healthcare doesn’t just include hrt and surgery. Puberty blockers only delay the onset of puberty changes, which can give teenagers the time to explore their identity without the onset of physical changes that cannot be reversed.
