These guys’ anger is never actually about sex, it’s about hating women and, more importantly, themselves.

I lurked in some Incel boards for a while and the thing is they say paying for it doesn’t count. Also sleeping with a woman who isn’t “at least a 9” doesn’t count. And one night stands “don’t count”

That’s literally one of the things that incels advocate for. They feel so entitled to sex that they think society needs to be restructured to accommodate that need. They want the government to take over sex work because they think that means they will have a guaranteed outlet no matter how awful they are.

That’s really why I hate this movie. It gets Joker’s character wrong and all to fit him into the mold of a character type I’ve seen so many times that it has been rendered a cliche.

The animated series from the 90's is when Batman’s villains started getting humanized and fleshed out in ways that ranged from sympathetic to intentionally deeply disturbing.

We can’t even get weed legalized in states like Louisiana that are having major financial problems to get us out of the massive debt Republicans caused, instead they would rather severely tax everyone, especially the poor.

sex workers don’t want to have sex with incels any more than non-sex-working women do, and they shouldn’t be expected to “take that bullet” for the rest of us.  incels are dangerous for sex workers because of their violent misogyny just like they are dangerous to other women, and sex workers should have every right…

Oh for fuck’s sake, this is ridiculous. Both that there’s reason to be afraid and that a movie can’t bloody tell a story and character study and hope that the audience will be intelligent enough to take it the way intended, without such extreme, exaggerated reactions from all sides.

I’m getting more and more uncomfortable with this movie and I haven’t even seen it yet. I don’t know whether to feel a bit of relief or even more uncomfortable that Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix are already mulling over people’s reactions to the film.
