Condoms do not completely protect against herpes, but they do reduce chances of transmission, especially for people with vaginas. If you have a vagina and are having PIV sex, your chances of getting herpes go down if the person with the penis wears a condom. Again, it does not eliminate risk; it reduces risk.

Roaches tend to live in walls, so I have heard some people will unscrew light-switch and electric plug plates, and put borax inside their walls. Not sure how safe that is from an electrical standpoint, so maybe consult with an electrician first.
We don’t even need to wait for a Pence presidency. Plenty of states are already eager to embrace Pence’s vision, and Trump has installed the Supreme Court Justices who could make it happen.

For the ones that are visible: soap suds or a spray-bottle of soapy water works well. It takes them a few minutes to die, but it is reliable.
I have not tried that! Rubbing alcohol dries quickly, doesn’t clog spray-bottle nozzles, and may be preferable for use on some surfaces (carpets?). Luckily I don’t live somewhere with a ton of roaches right now, so it will be a while before I see how effective it is.
