Thanks, eyrieowl. It's a minefield for parents and children in today's world.

Yes, I understand what you're saying, puddles. My kids know I love them and have tried my darndest to protect. But society can be cruel. And there are simply things outside of my control... including how my children become their own persons. Gotta roll with life or it will roll over you...
Thank you for that, Lollipops. Trans or not, I think good parents worry and are concerned for the welfare of their children.
Just sad all around. It sounds like her dad had lots of issues, not just the transgendered one. And these issues, as well as others within the family, still deeply affect her.
Milla Jovovich can do anything she wants in slow motion and it would still look sexy...
So that's how the Engineers did it!
Well, if that's the case, I trust Joss Whedon. Please keep the suits out of the decisions on the makeup of the director's cut!
Exactly.
I hate to promote any retail business in a comment thread, but I've had tremendous luck with style, size and prices on shoebuy.com, and I'm a size 12...
But will it truly be a Director's Cut? Or will it be like the slapped together version in the late 80s, early 90s of the scenes left out of ST:TMP that needed to stay out, just in order to sell more VHS and later DVDs? (They were incomplete, raw, and distracting)
Yes, but I can hear them coming a mile away and be on the roof with a couple of sharpshooters to take them down... so it's a bit impractical for a surprise attack, yes?
You're being far too harsh, imho.
"Sir, have you ever seen Lawrence of Arabia?"
This. Is. Wonderful! :)
Brown? Brown?! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...! ;-)
What a beautiful person and so well-versed in wisdom at such a young age. And you too, Katie Baker, for writing a poignant piece that brought tears to my eyes.
LOL... I need help reacting to something...
Ever heard the phrase, "Necessity is the mother of invention" ?
Two narcissists enter a room. One is a showrunner. The other is a studio executive.
Never heard of Tang? Or calculators? Or better ways of cleansing air ventilation systems? Or better missiles? Or a huge boost to the numbers of scientists and engineers we graduated from our colleges at the time? Or the boost to our national psyche at a time when the nation was afraid of its own shadow?
