Like this, only imagine a base where his crotch is.

Right, I get that you gain the speed, but you also gain a small amount of distance to cover. And like I said somewhere else, it seems like a terrible way to hurt myself - diving onto first base at literally my body's maximum speed. Wouldn't it make more sense to give a flying kick at the bag (injuries aside)?

You'd also be more likely injure yourself.

But why wouldn't you just run through the bag then? Your legs are already closer to the bag than your arms are.

Because "that much" is the difference between a ball and a strike or a strike and a home run.

Because the batters ask for a new ball if the pitcher doesn't. When the ump goes and sees that the ball is scuffed (even by the dirt), then the ump starts looking around. It's just easier to use a new ball every time.

But it's not a AAA schlub, it's a good AAA player or at least a major league recycled guy. David Freese was replacement level last year. So yeah, the difference between the Tigers with Freese and the Tigers with Cabrera is 7.5 wins (round it up to 8 for ease). 8 less wins puts them at 85-77, behind Kansas City and out

That's fucking excellent

You people have the worst taste in cereal.

If only there were some way you could not care about The Oscars, while simultaneously not reading and then commenting on an article about The Oscars.

I just read the original review and I'm not really seeing a reason to not like Leto. Leitch doesn't like the supporting actor in a movie (playing a gay character) because the main actor in a movie (playing a straight character) probably should be playing a gay character as well? However, I'm on board with Leto not

I wouldn't be shocked if Gravity won, but I'd be whatever one level below shocked is on the surprised list.

But The Oscars don't always go to the best movie/actor, despite that being their purpose. So, even if you think Gravity is a better choice, 12 Years A Slave will probably win because it has meaning.

I didn't see Dallas Buyers Club, can anyone explain why Grierson and Leitch don't like Leto's perfomance when seemingly everyone else does?
