Yes, dress codes are manipulated to discriminate against people and in this case it is atrocious.   That said, perhaps school uniforms might be a better idea. It hasn’t hurt British kids and it provides an equal footing for everyone as the poorer kids don’t have to try to keep up with or get shamed by the richer ones

True. But when you think about who is mostly watching network television, it’s Boomers and the rest of the oldsters.  Everyone else is on cable or streaming.

Will it be available in Canada? I would kill for a subscription to the Warner Archive vault, but it’s not available.

I was thinking he was rocking an old but tidy Howard Hughes.

His face is starting to look like 80s Charles Dance.

The only bright side (and it’s a lame one) is that other countries now have a chance at a chunk of the medals.

Me: I’d like a ticket from New York to Nashville, please.

Who goes on a cruise off Norway in March?  I guess it was inexpensive.

So, according to Streisand, since the victims didn’t commit suicide, then no real abuse happened?  That woman is nuts.

You’d better have a ton of money. The Rocky Mountaineer starts at about $1000 for 2 days, Vancouver to Lake Louise and back.  They market these things to rich seniors and railfans.

Brava.   As my high functioning son says, the world used to try to convert gay people.  Now they’re accepted.  Why not autistics?

Excellent article!

I inherited my mother’s muskrat coat. She bought it in the 50s. I plan to buy a nice Burberry or Aquascutum (when I can afford it) and line it with the fur. Sorry Canada Goose, but there is nothing warmer than a fur coat.

This is a cautionary tale. Google wants to take over a new neighbourhood in Toronto. Fine and good, perhaps. But what sort of mess will it leave if it walks away like it did in Louisville?

No bribe story here, to my knowledge. About 10 years ago I worked for a man worth $30 million. His daughter was a softball player. Of course he could afford the best coaches for her. Of course she got a sports scholarship to a decent northeastern university. It’s often the people who don’t need the scholarship who get

You got it. All that tax money coming in from the transactions and the licensing. Make it legal and make every worker his/her own boss.

Anything that is $10 or less.  They all break eventually whether they’re $100 or $10.

Since she survived, I guess she can’t be nominated for a Darwin Award.

When I was a little kid, I watched him on the CBC hosting Reach for the Top, a local high school quiz show. Then a year or two later he popped up on a bunch of US daytime game shows like High Rollers.  Always a class act - which is the type of person we’re sadly lacking these days. I wish him the best.

If he ever gets out of jail, I think there’s a career in acting waiting for him.
