What were they saying about how movies targeting female audiences won’t sell movie tickets again?

It was DELIGHTFUL to see how many people dressed up for it, including the men. From simply making a point of wearing something pink all the way to much more well thought out costumes, I was loving every bit of the audience energy.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but you can also use lighter weights with more reps to help build endurance. When I’m at the gym, I tend to focus on pushing my upper body with heavier weights, but on my legs, I’ll do like 20-25 reps using only about 20 lb supplemental weight since my lower body muscles are already

All the ones with sugar on top rank in the top half of the list by default.

Opinions on whether the trial being closer to the election (as compared to this fall) will help or hurt him in it? I think it’s to his detriment, but then again, I thought that him being exposed as a major criminal period would hurt him when it really hasn’t, at least not with GOP voters. These cultists are weird, and

I did the Barbenheimer double feature yesterday. In between movies my (male) screening partner and I were chatting with another guy who was doing the movies in the opposite order of us (Barbie -> Oppenheimer), and he declared Barbie to be great. After we finished our Barbie screening, my friend declared, along with

Probably because it has the audacity to imply that hey, maybe the McCarthy era witch hunts weren’t the best thing for America, and oh yeah, that bomb wasn’t all sunshine and victory parades.

While I agree with you, I also agree with what Linda is saying about how io9 now operates. Now that also said, I would expect to see a Gizmodo review of the movie since it absolutely should fall under the broader channel’s subject matter coverage, but Giz doesn’t seem to do any movie reviews outside of io9.

As someone who works in a live theatre box office, I can tell you that front row seats are not necessarily premium priced seats. Some customers really love them, but the majority would rather sit more off to the side if it means not having to be in the first row. My theatre only has two price tiers, and the entire

Oh, there is SO MUCH MORE they’re gonna hate it for, I promise you.

I will say that unlike those movies, the storytelling in this is really the feature. Nolan makes some narrative and filmmaking choices that I don’t even have the vocabulary to discuss, but they take what we might call a fairly standard biopic structure today and makes it feel different and fresh.

I did the double feature this afternoon (Oppenheimer followed by Barbie), and HOLY SHIT were there a lot of people there dressing up for Barbie. Also, a good number of people like me seeing both movies.

Having watched it this afternoon, I will say that at no point was I checking my watch wondering when it was going to be over. It kept me very engaged across the entire running time. (I also made a point of lightly dehydrating myself so that I wouldn’t need to worry about a bathroom break mid-movie, and that seemed to

I can’t speak to the mass appeal of it, but I will tell you what the appeal is for me.

Going to do OppenBarbie starting in about an hour and a half, but I’m still calling it Barbenheimer simply because that’s the way better name.

Unless you’re like me, who plans to see both of them in a double feature.

Even if these hadn’t been released on the same day, I would expect Barbie to outperform Oppenheimer. It’s just more broadly appealing subject matter. So this isn’t exactly surprising.

Well, anecdotally, I can tell you two people definitely are. 😉

I keep thinking of that very underrated AMC series Manhattan (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3231564/). It’s not centered around Oppenheimer. He’s actually a very minor character in it, but it’s a damn excellent show.
