I guess it depends on the industry. I have been a hiring manager (engineering and operations level) where we couldnt fill civil/mechanical engineering positions without a 4-year engineering degree, regardless of EIT/PE.

Problem being, “Automotive Engineering” isn’t an actual engineering degree.
