It was true - Sort of. At the first episode of season 4, Archer thinks he's a guy named Bob and he's working at Bob's burger. I won't spoil anymore here, go watch it, it's a fun episode, but they did the parody in part because the voice actor for bob and archer is the same guy, H. John Benjamin.
