For better or worse, its “proper” ratio is 4:3. (Which is not the same thing as Pan and Scan). As stated elsewhere it as filmed in a wider ratio simply because that how most available film stock was produced, not because it was ever intended to be seen that way. If they did remaster the show using the wider film…

First of all, people rushing to see these movies the night the come out have always been in the minority. At no point in human history has more than half the earths population gone to see the same movie the night it came out.
