The 03 is almost the same. Mine is very comfortable, but the cargo capacity is significantly down from my ‘87 Quattro Avant, and that’s down from my ‘84 5000 RWD. ALL are very comfortable, and I can attest, very safe. I wrote the ‘85 off once and liked it so much I rebuilt it.
