What about the Weezer cover of Toto’s “Africa?” The original was not the best track on the album, but was catchy, more for Toto’s superb studio musician skills and production than the absurd lyrics. The remake was generic to the point of offensiveness.

Last comment. You missed Jeff Buckley (and everyone else except KD Lang) and their covers of Hallelujah. Cohen’s song is a masterclass in mournful writing and searching for hope (and the possibility of not finding it).

Personally don’t get why anyone who likes pickles would want this. One of the best parts of pickles are the texture, especially when it provides a contrast to other ingredients on something like a burger.
