I’ve been saying this for years! Those covers make it sound like some sweet song. Nobody captures the mood the way Cohen wrote it, except Cohen.
I get irritated every time I hear one of those trash covers. And the fact that so many people love it based on those covers. 

Yes!

I like Kate Bush, but I got sick of hearing this song the first time around. Certainly didn’t need a second garbage round. 

I was thinking how grateful I am that I haven’t heard too many of these - but #1 - *chef’s kiss*
Both of those dudes should have retired long before they allowed that to happen.
