Your last sentence explains it all! Sure I look at young guys and think how hot they are, then I realize I’m a 50-something woman with sons in their late 20's and that usually kills the mood. 

I consistently got good grades through school and college, with little effort. My husband was held back in kindergarten and struggled through school, always considered “slow.”
He is so much fucking smarter than me in real life issues! He has emotional intelligence that I sorely lack and is able to navigate through life…

The US is a fairly young country in the grand scheme of things.

I agree that 1983 doesn’t seem very progressive, but Las Cruces is a small, almost border town in New Mexico with a minority of whites. I believe the delay in changing has less to do with the lack of political correctness, than the fact that the mostly indigenous population didn’t see the problem as quickly as others…

I went to New Mexico State Uni, and the yearbook there was called “The Swastika” in regards to the ancient symbol of luck in the native culture.
