Trump’s absurd behavior in Britain wasn’t some attempt to purposefully disrespect a monarch. No, all the people I know mocking the president over this are pointing out how completely devoid of cultural knowledge he is.

Being American, my stake in whether a monarchy makes sense in this day and age is very small. I’m of two minds: the first, exalting inbreds who are precisely where they are by exploiting millions is bad, the second being that at least the monarchs have to give up some privacy in exchange for their fortunes and put on…

There is a pretty amazing video of Ted Cruz from the 2016 campaign just fucking laying into Trump calling him a liar, a conman, and an all around disgraceful human being. I wish every journalist who spoke to Cruz would ask him about that tape and whether or not he still believed it.

It’s already far too late to hope the GOP will exhibit anything remotely resembling a backbone or spine; let alone a willingness to prioritize “nation over party.” That last shred of hope died when Ted Cruz walked back his “protest” of Trump’s nomination to work the phones for him prior to the election.
