It seems as though some critics are more game to jump down to comments than others. I'm not so much surprised by that as I am by the fact that this issue is almost more the fault of the editors. Back in the stone ages when I worked at a newspaper, these kinds of things were addressed by managing editors and

Well said. I've had this issue in teaching, with my students being afraid of seeming ignorant/sexist/racist if they do try to engage with the politics of identity, to the extent that I've lectured separately on the importance of 'messiness' to intellectual/critical/social discourse in terms of identity politics.

Just to add a quick 'and furthermore'-I also think this bias in reviewing does far more harm than good to discussions about diversity and representation because it gives those who are reluctant, for whatever reason (from 'not everything is about race, omg!' to 'racism? I don't see it, so it's not there!') to engage in

This review really does read like an undergraduate essay, where they've clearly latched onto a large concept like 'race' and decided to wield it like a hammer. Sooner or later, everything ends up looking like a nail. I've read dozens of these over the years…

I'm new to Agent Carter (I know, I know!), but given the comic book aesthetic of the show, the relatively light representation of racism didn't bother me at all. It's not a documentary and doesn't seem to aspire to be a perfect recreation of the era. Look at the costumes and the cars-everything perfect and bright and

Honestly, I'd back away from this one..Not worth your time.

Then I had to go listen to this song again!

Theory: the intended audience is 'whomever is doing the author's academic tenure review'.

Oh ok! I was putting my little one to bed and must've missed that-thanks for the clarification. Still not okay with Bow and Dre's initial attitude about Christmas, though.

A little late to the party, but I have to say out of all the things I heard this year, I was most pleased that I took a chance on DJ Koze. I don't know much about dance music, but I love his 'DJ Kicks' mix. Happen to have any recommends for other similar stuff?

Crazy/hilarious things Charlie said/did/hinted at:

I didn't think I'd miss Charlie so much! I think Wanda Sykes is doing great, and I think both of them would've been too much but…is there a gift receipt?

Both.

I regret watching that.

3) Where the heck was Joe at the end of the episode (our TV reception was terrible so I missed a few things)?

Not sure if this is an option for you, but if you get Sling, you'll get TCM!

Since this has skipped right on to uncalled for condescension, I'll explain this one more time and then I'm done.

You're not a crybaby. It's perfectly reasonable to want to only read comments for whichever episodes are being posted. If there's a place to discuss the entire season, and someone went there having not seen all the episodes and then complained about spoilers, that would be one thing.

Agreeing with @jay_see:disqus here. It's not hard to limit your comments to the episodes that are covered in the review.

You know, I was trying to figure out if this person is trolling, trying to be ironic, or just wandered over from a Yahoo! story, and then I saw your post and realized you pretty much gave the only reasonable response. So have an upvote.
