This might be debunked by now, but what was being batted around a while ago was the story would involve 'pre-Superman' globe wandering days of Clark. He fights things like earthquakes and fires. I'm hoping that this info is either false, or makes up a very small part of the film, ala Bruce in Beginnings.

I feel exactly the same. I think they really let her go out on a high note, making her into more than just a sterotype in her last, like, 5 min on screen. But really, she dragged the whole show down while she was on it.

Hollywood is pretty reactionary about these things. After Sept 11th they took all images of the two towers out of all upcoming films.

I had a dream about Game of Thrones last night....

At this point though nerd culture has been, let's face it, over-saturated with steampunk it has never really show any ability to breakthrough the mainstream. No steampunk comics or tv shows have shown wide appeal, with the possible exception of League of Extraordinary Gentleman, and we all know how well that went on

But these people stole Microsoft points. Last I checked, theft was illegal.

I know that at least in Wyoming the counties that are at the lowest levels are the where the 'rich' cities are. They have higher median incomes, better access to healthy food options, etc. I'm willing to bet that at least in some places where levels are so high, the inverse is true. They have little access to

The folks on Jezebel are more frequently asked to talk about complex 'sensitive' issues like weight, race, and money. I think that reading the comments on Jezebel has raised my standards for the level of respect and knowledge I expect out of these sorts of discussions.

It's not a coincidence, but you have the cause and effect backwards. People with low access to things like education and a healthy life style are more susceptible to conservative politics and are more invested in religion. It's not that they are dumb, therefor make dumb choices both lifestyle-wise and politically,

Yeah, you're not wrong about that. If this map was next to one that listed things like median income there would be a whole lot of match up.

I too was very upset reading some of these comments. I think there are a few really good ones in the mix, like aLynHall's comment down the way, but for the most part this is not the sort of thing I expect from io9.

And let's not forget food deserts. Many people in areas like this simply don't have ready access to healthy food at any price.

I would say that many, if not all, of these are all measuring the same thing, level of income. With lower income comes lower education level (and it's important to remember which is causing which), lower over all health, etc. And, for very complex reasons, that population is more susceptible to the kind of message

Alright Colorado, it's time to give up the your secrets. I know it's not that nobody lives there (like here in Wyoming), Denver is smack in the middle of that white block of healthiness.

I have men's shirts that are smalls. But I can line it up with a shirt that exactly matches it in size, but is a woman's shirt is an XXL.

I'm all for alternative energies, but biofuel never passes the check for me. First off there is the fact that to make the plant matter into fuel we have to burn fuel, in pretty equal parts to what we get out of it, so there is no real energy savings. Then there is the fact that to grow plants on the level we would

I would have married him for the library alone.

Given all it did for science, I feel it should get a medal.

I've heard that, but I've not actually played them. Hmm, maybe it's time to buy myself a little gift.....
