He is literally the only thing I remember about that movie. If you’d said he had 45 min of screen time I would have believed you. He was the only interesting thing that happened on that screen that wasn’t a landscape shot.

Yeah, I fully admit to not seeing it in context so not knowing if it was handled well at all.
Thanks for clearing that up! I agree that treating it like a Kickstarter is a good way to think about it. I don’t really see any information about how people are going to access Orgins after next week, but I’ll keep an eye out.
I haven’t seen Origins, so I’m not saying it wasn’t handled badly but you do know gay people have kids all the time, right? An bi people do exist.
Can someone break down the pricing on the Stargate Command site for me. The best I could figure is that the $20 ‘All access pass’ got me access for one week only, which seems... well... not right. Any insight?
Edited. Need to read closer. Thought it say best toy. I have not good Star Wars stories, and can’t delete my post.
The ‘so-so’ Star Trek:Beyond? I’ve always been in the minority on this, especially on this site, but I think Beyond is the first good movie to come out of these reboots. Certainly it’s the first actual Star Trek movie.
I am soothed by the fact I’m not the only one who noticed.

Where are Skeeter and Scooter? They are the two halves of my soul! Where are they??!?!?!?!
Right! Like two different puppet-things, neither of which hold even the barest of candles to actually having Carrie Fisher on screen.
There is a subplot in season one that her powers are the result of something more, very possibly the design of an outside agency, but we don’t know what. We are made to think the crash is related, but we don’t know how. It is never fully explained, and left as a lingering thread to lead to season two.
MGM has a history of coming to these sort of flash in the pan trends two years to late with half a product.
I might be mistaken, but I thought there was very serious talk even a year ago about a rebooted movie. Stargate is always up in the air for something new. I think this is a franchise that is so rudderless at the moment that it’s hard to read too closely into anything they do.
Oh! That’s cool! Thanks for letting me know. Now I’m properly excited. Putting it behind a proprietary paywall is... not ideal. But at least it will be worth watching.
This looks like the best fan film ever made.
To each their own. I just adore him in Brotherhood (though I don’t much like the show after the first season). And I can’t think of a single Jason Isaacs performance that was anything but amazing. He’s just in a class all by himself.
Watch the first season of Brotherhood (on Prime right now). I didn’t like him that much at first, but he really brings something to his performances that is so subtle and real. He’s become one of my favorites.
I would posit that the issue was that there were many plot threads in TFA that *Abrams* didn’t give a shit about, which is the root of the problem. He was just throwing pictures at the screen if they looked fun, and didn’t care where they landed.
