@aamadis: I think Three Inches never got past the planning stage. From what I heard it was one of many possible new superhero shows, but got beat out by something else.

I would put mine at the top of my head if it was at all acceptable. The point of pony tails it two fold - 1. keep it out of my face 2. keep it off my neck in hot weather. Top of the head is logically the best place for both.
@gstar: Nah, but I am holding my wallet.
@BeyondtheTech: You will always be able to change the address between now and when it ships. Amazon has a really good policy about updating waiting orders.
@38thsignal: I like to think that Pluto is more important now. It used to be the lowly ninth planet. Now they came up with a whole category just for Pluto. It's a mold breaker.
@SG-17: I'm wondering why they didn't. When they put the theatrical cuts on DVD it sold like mad, even to people (like me) who already had all the movies on DVD.
@dudemanguy: I've read most of it. I think National Geographic did a really great job of turning it into a documentary. They kept the real meat of it and made it a lot more accessible to the types of people who never read anything vaguely scientific.
@38thsignal: I think after the public outcry about Pluto it was decided that even though what was once known as Triceratops was the young stage, not the adult stage they would keep the more popular name for the animal to keep people (like me) happy.
@CuriousYellow: All very true. Still, some data is better than no data, even if it's not quite enough to extrapolate real answers.
@38thsignal: I think it also has to do with their skeletal structure, which is not enough like ours to say they are homo. Which is more reason to get DNA as it is a much more reliable way to determine genus and species and subspecies (just as the Triceratops).
@AdoraBelle: I'm right there with you. I realize now they meant that there are nine specimens, each a meter tall, but I really thought it was some sort of error at first.
@CuriousYellow: From what I understand we don't just look at older specimens, we look at two modern specimen and determine the last time they had a common ancestor, that would tell us a lot about who these folks are and where they came from.
I usually skip right over the Supernatural spoilers because I'm way behind, but the comments were to interesting to ignore.
I think I first heard this theory in "Guns, Germs and Steel." I like it because it's the only logical reason I've heard so far for us shedding our hair (though the aquatic ape theory is by far the most fun).
@RadioSilence: To me Ke$ha is just a name that shows up on Jez sometimes. But I still love this. A fun parody of a pop song needs very little context.
Reading that put me into a state of contentment and bliss.
Human have a real need for narrative. We need to know that 'this caused that.' It really helps us be inventors and create things like, say agriculture. Knowing how large complex systems interrelate is a very good trait.
