I have zero clue what your talking about as playstation 3 had free online play. Also this came out in 2007 so if you didnt play it before I doubt you were going to start now.
Stephen and Heather! Welcome to the YouTube crybaby culture. Aren’t they lovely? Most have never played the game but cause of this guy/girl they watch said it, then it must be true. You both have played this and Origins and they still want to tell you how wrong you are. Just drop the attempt cause until you have a…
Yeah man, JRPGs never have a grind amirite?
You are one of the few that gets it. The micro transactions are simply a huge waste of money for anyone planning to actually beat the game. I paid 30$ for Origins + DLC. Took me 150 hours to beat. Paid zero dollars for gear.
I don’t know, usually single player games allows you to cheat (i.e. Command Console). I don’t see any problem on monetizing cheats, you want to speed or even ruin your game experience? Well you can, for price. :)
Sure, the fact that the game is online only makes this possible and a weak person might fall for it. Maybe…
How does one trim a large scale RPG back to allow only base content? What even is base content? It’s like someone subscribing to Wolrld of Warcraft and being like, “Why is there 10+ years if content. I dont have time for this, woe is me.” Out of all the arguments, this is by far one of the dumbest.
This is probably too much of a hot take for most of you, but here it is:
Yup, this is my experience too. Im about 16 hours in, and have never felt the difficulty was too hard or the need to grind to get upgrades. I have an ass(creed)load of most of the crafting materials and skill points because I’m a weeny and don’t want to spend them in the wrong place, and even then, the only fight I’ve…
Just to throw this out there (and really just to combat the kid here stomping his feet about having to grind in an RPG), these Microtransactions aren’t an issue. Really. It took me hours before I actually clicked the store tab at all, and that was only because the game gave me free helix credits for some reason.
Microtransactions in Assassin’s Creed games always struck me as odd since, for me at least, a good portion of the aesthetic appeal of AssCreed games is - “the game presents a series of checklists, and completing checklists is satisfying”. So the value of the game lies in “how long can you complete these checklists…
As I wrote in the article, none of the Kotaku staff who’ve played the game have felt the need to buy a booster to play the game, get past difficult parts or have fun. I’m not sure which reviews you read, but it wasn’t our experience here. You’re upset about the game doing something that, based on the hundreds of hours…
I still stand by this being a rare case where the microtransactions seem generally harmless, at least in this individual case. For the most part, they are purely shortcuts to something that is non-essential for the full experience of the game on offer, and Ubi has shown with Origins that they will continue additional…
I’m generally 100% against micro-transactions, but I forgot to even look to see if they existed in this game and purchased it. Then I played it and noticed that after the first time they beg for more money, the game basically STFU about it and lets you play, until a bit later when it gives you some online currency and…
But the game doesn’t do that.
I’ve been playing quite a bit and felt no need for any microtransactions. I even forget the store is there. Same as with Origins.
“I sit in the middle of the political spectrum”
In the sea of gaming websites, why do you come here to complain about an editorial stance that has been clear as day for a long time?
Oh great, another commenter lamenting the content that they voluntarily clicked on and then commented on.
What makes me laugh is that so many of these hate groups in Europe whine about Islam supposedly taking over and preying on the most vulnerable... before recruiting ostrachised people in the gaming scene and convincing them only White men are good people...
