Troy Leavitt cancels himself! Oh no, cancel culture strikes again!
Did you forget a word or two there, kiddo?
This article is about Twitch, not Twitter.
Every year, we’re running out of reasons to need to emulate old hardware/games as more and more gets ported with superior results.
Also, PC gamers living in Asia finally get Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It released everywhere else last year.
Kiwami 1, no. Kiwami 2, maybe not quite as vast, but up there. (I recommend Googling “how long to beat [title],” as there’s a fairly helpful site that logs gamers’ play time depending on how much they’re trying to complete.)
When Yakuza first came out in 2006 (?), Shenmue was really the closest comparison. An open Japanese city to explore, stores you could go inside, fighting, random activities. And both were by Sega.
Kiwami 2's villains are okay, but due to the pacing of the original game, they don’t get a whole lot of screen time. They’re fine when they appear.
The thing that Y0 really ruins for the series are the villains. The Y0 villains are SO GOOD, SO PUNCHABLE. And Y0 does a ton of legwork with regard to some of the villains of Y1, which didn’t flesh them out enough.
I’m still only on the first uh part/chapter/character/location, but it’s kind of insane how it feels like they’ve narrowed in on exactly all the right qualities that make this series work for Y5. Not that Y4 was a slouch, that game was a blast too, but the balance/mechanics/combat/minigames/everything seems that much…
I felt the same way about the combat when I started the series. However, the combat was changed dramatically for Y6/Kiwami 2, and I found it to be an absolute blast. Y5's combat is also a lot of fun.
Ishin came out in between Y5 and Y0, arguably the creative high point of the series, so that would need little more than a remaster.
No, that was Far Cry 4. The sequels are fully co-op from start to finish.
“is sold out across multiple platforms”
Uh, you can do this with Far Cry 5, New Dawn, and FC6 when it comes out.
All of it! Well, flying on the drones is kind of charming, but indirectly.
Yes, play Watch Dogs 2, and that’s it.
