I watched Aliens for the first time, and I adored it. I love how slow the first hour is and then how fast-paced the rest of the movie gets.

Seth is awesome - I like how diverse the writing staff is and how they use that to their advantage in the show (also he's surprisingly good at handling more serious topics, and that says a lot about him as a person too.)

DNA, even on a first listen, stands out for me (as do Lust and XXX)

Apparently you need to listen to it a few times. I think it's in the latter category but that's only because I just listened to it once. I'm looking forward to hearing it again, though.

^^^^ exactly - reminds me of when YouTube made its safe content settings exclude transgender people. Like "your very existence is not suitable for people under 18."

I'm trans myself - I think that cis-to-trans can only work if the actor doesn't treat it like an acting exercise to get an Oscar. It's probably difficult to portray a transition with trans actors already out of the closet though, unless you use different actors (though that said I'm surprised there aren't more films

I don't even get the Rice Krispies one!

:D yay!!!! I'm so looking forward to listening (and I'm glad Kendrick pushed his thing until next week bc that would have been overkill)

I hope Pence was involved in some Russia stuff as well so he can be added to the list

Nothing is beautiful and everything hurts

idk of all the things from that time period I wouldn't necessarily pick Simon & Garfunkel as the one to hate

It's so lazy - there was opportunity for an easy joke about a hypothetical Shark Tale 2 or even a dated reference of the Bee Movie meme, but they went with something that wasn't even Dreamworks. Shame.

For now, it makes sense, if you consider this oddly prescient quote from Rolling Stone, of all places, last year:

Honestly that quote in the review sold me on this book, like everything else didn't already. I'm looking forward to reading this when I have the time (there's another book called Living a Feminist Life that's also supposed to be really good - it'll make a nice double feature)

Womp it up
Until you can feel it
Womp it up
When you don't really need it

*alternating horn and guitar riff backed by a punchy drum groove*

Not a huge fan of the crazier ones that make it look like any other Adult Swim show, but I admit I did love the first couple and the Meeseeks Battle

I love how many questions this episode raised!! :D

^^^ Nice little bit of lampshading there, after how relatively dark this episode was
