this version of “Sleep All Summer” is definitive
The only real misstep was the “tonight is the night” joke because pop songs are not about how tonight is the night at the moment - if anything they’re just kind of melancholy and weird.
So basically trailers but post-movie
Well, Elrond, you are an odd fellow, but I must say, you Gold a good Blum.
This book sounds amazing (coming from a Jewish person)
I sometimes watch the last couple of minutes before Good Place starts and I haven’t exactly loved the Superstore I’ve seen. There’s nothing there that other shows (even current ones like B99) don’t do better, though I do see some potential.
Key and Peele had to deliberately look cinematic for some sketches, so that makes sense.
The kind of sentence the AV Club used to knock out regularly (but I feel like there’s been something of an uptick lately)
Uproxx has gotten better, but basically everything Kinja’d (excluding the Onion, obviously) has become a monotonous slog... and yet I’m still here.
This is actually good come on
I’m trans, so I have different opinions on the TS-motherfucking-A, but even I loved that line.
I have a black friend (yes I know how that sounds) who’s deathly afraid of cops, and the movie terrified him until Rod stepped out of the cop car. He still vowed never to watch it again, but for his sake I’m very glad it ended how it did.
always the answer for “should I watch this show” if you have not seen the Good Place.
> Hell, we’d go see it a third time, if we could.
Louis CK and Dave Chappelle are the infamous ones, but I’m sure they’re not alone.
I hope this is good (and does away with the transphobia that’s become a hallmark of certain Netflix specials lately.)
Paddington 2 is the highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes, right?
“Shut Up and Dance” is excellent, but “One Foot” is insufferable...
I genuinely like this podcast and Crooked Media in general - I understand why some people may prefer Chapo Trap House and the like, but then again, to keep things in perspective, my dad listening to Crooked podcasts would lead him to react how ‘liberals’ would react to Trap House.
