Even Rascal Flatts, who basically started this whole bro-country thing years ago, have made jokes about it.

Jai Ho is awesome.
but man is everything else about Slumdog awful. A convoluted mess.
I'd argue I Love You All is a tearjerker. And it's played during the end credits AND in context, so why it's not nominated is baffling.
This post reminds me of the infamous Dawesmas comment from a while ago.

How did no one mention the hallucination scene when he starts flying?
I didn't see the trailer before I went into the theater so I wasn't even remotely prepared for it, but my jaw dropped when I first saw that.
Oh, little girl, please understand
And listen to the words I say
I was your dad, now I'm your mom

I thought it was for his nose, but okay.
That trailer got me into Arcade Fire (I was still into the Coldplays of the world at the time), so that already makes it great.
Movie is so underrated too.
Any list where Frank gets love, even if it's just about the marketing, is a good list.
Birdman?
Every other scene was a classic, but at least a mention for Emma Stone's performance would be great
That's part of the problem, because then when it goes into the actual song it's massively disappointing. I have a similar thing with Joe Walsh's "Life's Been Good", where it's awesome for the first minute, but then the verse comes in and it's a complete let down.
Calling it right now: Birdman's going to be like the Hugo of this years' awards and sweep all the technicals (as well as acting for Keaton), but then not get best picture/director.
Even though it deserves that.
Due to your icon I'm now thinking of Homestar Runner singing "Oh my Dawwling Don't Cwy"
In what universe is "Bored in the USA" happy?
Katie is probably the most underrated writer on the site. She can do snark on the level of O'Neal or she can do thoughtful pieces like the one above.
But yeah this one especially is great.
