Our US homologation rules for western European vehicles are just goofy rules to prevent cross Atlantic competition.

the day of the small truck B cab are done (no long bed B cabs either. these (Maverick and Santa Cruz) are aimed at people buying a truck as a car substitute. Take out the Mustang and Ford sells no cars at all in North America.

you always have the option of saying “no” to the deal price.

every OEM makes a profit on destination charges vs the average true cost of delivering the vehicles from the point of assembly. there is no dealer profit margin in a delivery charge as he pays the OEM that same amount

when and if the shooting starts I just want one chance to aim at the MFs who own this vehicle! The top comes off (not retractable and therefore not a true convert) only when there are no clouds in the sky.   what a waste at 2.8 or 28 mill.

12 months in the clink for this gal with no time off for good behavior - please!

Former TMS employee:. The Toyota regional office will try and accommodate customer requests but you might have to visit several dealerships to find one who will go through that process rather than either sell you what they’ve got or try and locate a similar vehicle and trade with the dealer where it is located. if it

Still not going to buy a Tesla but anyone as wealthy as Elon, who can get on TV, make fun of himself, and still remember his lines can’t be all bad. It was the best SNL of the season even if some of the Hollywood types think otherwise.

Used Fiata Spyder:  should be cheap, easy to find, and built by the Japanese.

It sounds so good it must not be true.  Toyota in the US is lost on emotion.

Will it be sold in the US? A silly approach but means that Ford considers China really critical! Hope is that it has a big back seat.

Stellantis could literally shove a Chrysler badge on this and sell it immediately here in the states. I think it’d sell.

GM is not the only OEM lost on the combo of fun married up with affordable. Where is the Yaris GR?

From a former Toyota insider. the new but not here Yaris GR is just another in the long line of wonderful (but really low vol.) Toyotas that either never get built at all or get built but are never sold in North America. So aggravating

Not if teh specs are proper and go along with the right price. Some of us are tired of midsized 4 x 2 trucks at 30,000 plus and with really lousy gas mileage Farley had better get the price right. Even perhaps a plain jane 2 door version.

Amen Amen Amen

As a former Toyota product insider I can tell you that Toyota has a really poor up channel line of communication on issues like this and surprised it does not happen more often on products developed without a partner. also this BS on a car with no sales potential when a really tiny group wants the 3 cyl. Yaris

Erik

the bureaucrats in DC don’t get a hoot but a real shame all the silly rules prevent us from having a shot at a car like this. soon it looks as though you’ll have to go with a Morgan if you want something crazy but still under a 100 grand and new.

Cut it to McJeepface and you’ve won
