The best Japanese toilets have a tiny blow-dryer attachment too! No need for TP if you do it right :)

I’m in British Columbia, Canada. We had some pretty severe TP shortages due to panic-buying and hoarding until the stores started limiting purchase to 1 package per customer - with packages typically containing 12 rolls or more. So now everyone is fine.

TBH I kinda like a few specks of the powder to float on the surface and give extra flavour to my first few sips. Especially when it’s Ovaltine! Still, I’m going to use this approach the next time I mix chocolate milk or Ovaltine for someone else who is less weird :) Thank you!

Guh. Just the thought of this is making me salivate. Thank you.

Yeah, I have a friend who wants to bicycle to a park and meet me there. I know she’s isolated and lonely... but I very much fear that she’ll move within the 6-foot zone ( I don’t dare say yes.

Thank you so much!!! <333

I realize you could be joking (?)... but unless you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, that ain’t happening:

The Met operas are indeed streaming but I can’t find a way to turn on subtitles/surtitles. Does anyone know a fix for this? Tristan und Isolde is gorgeous music but narratively impenetrable if you don’t speak German (and possibly a bit so even if you do ;).

I would really appreciate if you’d do a piece on how to practice 6-feet distancing in a society where far many people are not respecting that. Right now my city is virtually shut down, and as a result people are staying at home but going out for walks as exercise breaks. Which is great, except far too many are

This appears to be different country by country.

In related news, try being a grown-ass woman who’s looking for nightwear that’s neither infantile (teddy bears! little wee pink hearts! cartoon kitty-cats and other animals! cutesy phrases!) nor sexy lingerie.

Another good reason to refer to it as ISIL instead.

I have a friend that desperately wants to go out for a walk. She’s isolated and lonely.

But, I also got out the measuring tape this evening and checked just how long 6 feet of distance actually is. It’s HUGE. Even people I see walking “apart” are nowhere near this far from each other.

I’m rethinking the walk :(

Now that COVID-19 is upon our land, I see people responding to toilet paper panic-buying with the observation that folks can always use cloth - rags, I guess? - and just launder it when necessary.

Hey, I bought 2 bottles of wine. Guess my age. *bats eyelashes*

Came here to ask this :) Hopefully they mean “diluted with water”, which could include tap water, because having to buy distilled water is a pain.

My problem is a constant desire to push up my glasses - which are on my nose - which is on my face. I don’t actually touch my face but it is uncomfortably close. Stupid myopia!

I have sometimes taken slippers _with_ me when visiting another person’s home, especially if I’m already aware they may be hosting other guests. Even Japanese friends (who tend to have multiple spare pairs of slippers) can run short during a party ;)

In Canada all my life, and we grew up wearing shoes indoors during the warmer months. I only started using slippers when I moved away from my family, got my own place, and discovered that indoor carpeting really does stay a lot cleaner when you don’t wear “outdoor shoes” indoors.
