Me too! I can’t understand the logic of that change. Why would I want my phone to use up juice by continually searching for a service (bluetooth) I need only intermittently?
I’m sure this is a terribly naive question, but that 2 MB download will gouge a big chunk out of my phone’s available space if that represents a net increase. Does it? Or is 2 MB the download size but it takes less space once installed (because the existing OS is replaced)?
When I was a small child, I remember making a mental note to my adult self not to speak condescendingly to children and especially to avoid such comments as “What did you do in school today?”, “My, you look pretty/cute” and so forth. Unfortunately, I didn’t make any notes about which topics I should broach with little…
Spouse and I are off to see an elderly relative in a care home in a couple weeks’ time. Damn straight we’re going to get flu shots first. Not so much for our benefit — it’s for the vulnerable residents who’d suffer a lot more if we spread it to them.
Urgh. Can’t stand Dreamworks Face.

I have the good fortune of having no food allergies or sensitivities whatsoever, but I have friends that do — including one who, like you, is highly allergic to peanuts.

The President’s Choice line originated as an in-house brand of the (Canadian) Loblaws grocery store chain, with the “president” in question being the president of the company. In other words, “our CEO likes this [cookie, olive oil, pasta] the best”.
Multiple subject tags would help, too! No idea why they’re not used more consistently on this site. This one includes the “Filed to:” tags MEMORY, PUBLIC SPEAKING and SPEECH, but it wouldn’t hurt to include iOS too.
False consciousness truly is America’s worst disease.
This is absolutely true, but I do wonder whether the point of the Donald & Melania show is to keep y’all distracted from being effective. The Trumps are expert trolls, after all. As we say in my household, 45's superpower is divisive speech, and he will happily keep all of America arguing with itself until doomsday.
Reminds me of the Doonesbury comic of March 13, 1982:
Sadly, this is true.
OK, I’m Canadian and I simply do not get the American requirement of registering with a party. Isn’t this the antithesis of the democratic right to vote in secrecy? Shouldn’t it be sufficient to have registration as a voter, without having to have a specific affiliation (even if it’s ‘undecided’ as in your example)?
LastPass is fantastic for this purpose. On my last overseas trip, I used it to store scans of passports, travel and medical insurance documents, flight itineraries, hotel booking confirmations... everything I could think of. It was good to know that if I somehow lost everything I was carrying, PDF copies would be…
