All they care about is lining their pockets and getting re-elected

Most elected officials want to get re-elected, therefore they do care about the opinions of voters in their district.

Great, thanks for the reassurance. Again, I’ll think first and foremost of crying Bernie fans who were unenthusiastic about Clinton as I lose my health insurance. And my right to get an abortion. And my right to free birth control. And when people assault my Muslim, Black, and Latino friends. I’ll think, gosh darn

I get what you are saying, but I still have to disagree but perhaps only by a little bit. As others have commented on, this kind of protest and disagreement is a bit different from what we get from the right. I don’t know for sure, but I worry that it is this kind of equivocation that, at least partially, contributed

I had a thing typed out and realized that I’m (still) grey on Jez.

If Clinton had won and we take Trump supporters at their word, they’d be gunning down people in the streets, not peacefully protesting. If they restricted themselves to chants and marching I wouldn’t be mocking them — I’d be thanking god that they aren’t quite as monstrous as they have repeatedly bragged about being.

Turn out was down, that is why Hillary lost, because of turn out. Bernie supporters, had he won, would have FUCKING DEMANDED that Hillary supporters turn out and vote for him, even though they spent a year online calling us “cunts”. The double standard is sickening.

It’s worth noting that the wider the popular vote margin the harder it is to declare that Trump has a mandate and the harder it is to defend the electoral college if there ever comes a push to abolish it. Also, I wonder how many people in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin thought they were in safe states.

I can assure you that he did not get my vote or support nor can he ever count on it. I am disgusted by the lack of voter turnout this election and dismayed by the number of women who voted for Trump.

Great. Thanks for all the millennial enthusiasm after the buzzer. I’ll think about how great these protests were after Roe v. Wade is overturned and I lose the right to healthcare with my pre-existing condition.

Right now I am too stunned and heart-broken to be angry. I woke up at 4 a.m. and saw the news. When I fell back asleep I dreamed that my bed was infested with weird, tiny, bugs.

And we can do more than just vote, too. Everyone be kind to yourselves and each other right now, and then organize.

I won’t be able to go in to the office tomorrow if this horrible man wins. I know this country is built on white supremacy and female oppression, but now they openly, gleefully admit it. I’m scared shitless, and I live in a solidly blue state.

I am literally sick to my stomach. No matter,NO MATTER your views on Clinton, there is NO REASON! that a piece of fucking garbage like Trump should be president. He is concerned with one thing, making Donald Trump better. He dosen’t give a fuck about his little cult, and he dosen’t give a fuck about this country. I

Even if Clinton wins the answer is a resounding yes.

My god, America.

I didn’t think it would be this close. Not in a million years. I’ve basically lost all faith in humanity. Is this country really this racist, homophobic, misogynistic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, decency-phobic?

by how close this is.
