I know MD has said some douchy-male things lately and gotten criticized for it, and rightly so. But this....I mean, he’s really NOT played a “white savior” by any definiton in his movies, especially the ones presented here. He just plays a hero type, like every other movie star on the planet since the beginning of

I feel like this list doesn’t know what a white savior is though. A white savior is a white person who rides to the defense of non-white people from some (generally also non-white) evil bad guys.

Former Peace Corps volunteer here. If your friend acted like she literally built everything herself then yeah, she sucks. If you hated on her for setting up schools (probably using local laborers) then you’re the shitty person.

yeah, again, but isn’t that like ... every movie?

If feeling cute motivates them to go to the gym, then power to them.

I love her overuse of the word “we,” like her statements obviously apply to everyone. As someone who, like the author, fairly recently also made the decision to start focusing on my health, there is one thing I’ve definitely learned (about myself): exercising in yoga/fitted pants makes exercise easier and more

Yes, a majority of white women voted for Trump. But do you seriously believe the majority of the white woman Trump voters are the women who would fall under the “white feminist” moniker? Because I suspect those women would not describe themselves as feminists at all, let alone read Jezebel to be on the receiving end

If Hillary was President right now, DACA would still be in place.

Yes, it would have been better.

I have had so many therapists tell me I need to allow myself to grieve for the woman I lost when I was raped. It’s been over a decade, and the grief comes out sporadically, often at completely random times. Lately, with the news full of #MeToo and a constant influx of men being unmasked, the near-constant triggering

I hear you Toomanyburners123, but this woman wasn’t the abuser. We need people who are aware to speak up about this abuse, but if they are demonized when they do, how can we ever expect people to do what’s right? She f*cked up, she could have/should have helped, but the abusers are the guilty party who should be held

I watched The Apprentice (hated Trump even then, but liked the premise of the show). Omarosa acting calm and being complimentary was absolutely her M.O., so that she can say “I’m not the crazy one, you’re the crazy one” while taking no ownership of her actions or statements. She did this on every reality show she

Omarosa deserves any and all scorn. She is a professional shit-stirrer with no discernible talent other than picking fights. And she “worked” in the White House for an unprofessional shit-stirrer...remind us all what she accomplished as liaison to the African-American community?

I understand that you are basing your statements on the above video. I watched that entire season, and believe me when I tell you that she is awful, and everything you saw was a result of that. It had nothing to do with her skin color, it had to do with the fact that she is vile beyond words.

I can’t speak for her, but people stay in shitty relationships for all kinds of reasons. You still love the person, you have kids, divorce is still stigmatized, etc, etc, etc...They were apparently able to stay married but live separate lives. Most couples don’t have other homes that one party can simply live in most

My husband’s ex wife is the attorney for a large Midwestern auto insurance company. Her job is to decide which suits in her region should be defended and which are settled. The majority are settled for nuisance.

I hope she puts it all up on SoundCloud. The remixes could be spectacular.

I am so confused by this entire argument. Aren’t social media posts, selfies, and other visibility-increasing things GOOD for a grass-roots movement? Wouldn’t you want protesters to post supportive messages, selfies, and other info about the protest on social media in order to encourage others to join? Or to act as a

Nah. It’s a waste of time trying to get people to stop being attention whores on social media. They’re not a real problem since the whole point of marches is to get as many people there as possible. I don’t give a shit if most of the people there aren’t true activists “doing the work”.

Why have a march at all then?
