I'm Figuratively Dead

Honestly, I’m glad he’s out of the MCU. I don’t get what the appeal of the dude is - as an actor. He’s obviously an awful person but I can’t see why he was getting raves for his performances. Fussy, pretentious, indulgent, with zero charisma. But I seem to be in the minority. What am I missing?

He seems very disingenuous to me. Everything from his defense attorney’s pre-trial shenanigans, to breaking up that fight, to dating Meagan Good feels very calculated and manufactured. That’s certainly not unique to him (Tom Cruise has had a very controlled public image for decades), but Majors is too young and too

Now playing

Not sci fi but an underrated Sutherland role (the syndication cut to the punch line is soooo dumb)

It’s funny how Joss Whedon hated Sutherland because Sutherland had the gall to not read Whedon’s lines as written and improved on them as he saw fit. I guess Sutherland got the last laugh on that - he died a hero, while Whedon lived long enough to become a villain.

That’s why I said “basically binary structure for sexes”.

I thought male and female are sexes.

You’re the one trying to steal awards from women, so that a nonbinary performer can get a courtesy nomination every few years while a cis man wins Best Performer every year.

There should be a Best Nonbinary Performer award that is either given out like an honorary award (for years where there’s only one notable nonbinary performance), or if we get to a place where there are 3 or 4 standout performances in a given year, it can just be treated like any other category.

Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake have eerily similar career arcs.

They were huge for a time, then when it seemed like they could do no wrong, all of a sudden they could do no right, to the point where entire album cycles were just one L after another. Their brands became nothing but cringe.

And now with drunk driving

I think people are worried about men winning both awards.

People should be able to choose their gender identity and pronouns and be respected for that, but the vast majority of humans, and not just cishet people, are completely comfortable with identifying as entirely one gender, so the insistence that “gender is a spectrum,” while not outright false, sure seems like an

a gender binary that doesn’t really fit with today’s world, where most understand gender expression as existing on a spectrum rather than fixed binaries

Tbh, that disclaimer in parenthesis made me lol.

Ironically, this just means they can be more brazen in their attempts to award identity over achievement.

When you’re so progressive you go backwards to men mostly winning everything.

Her music is actually horrible, so there’s that. “You PMS like a bitch” is not fine. Her music has always been anti-feminist and anti-woman, so her “knowingly working with that guy” is not a surprise.  It’s just the next step.

Ugh, man.  My 8 yo daughter’s favorite singer is Katy Perry, and it annoys me to no end because I dislike her (Perry, not my daughter) so much.  She’s just the fucking worst.  The sad thing is that she actually had a really good singing voice when she’s not singing her own horrible songs.  Her brand of “feminism” is

“I believe in innocent until proven guilty and I believe in justice.”

At this point, all of the NBC Universal stations are largely interchangeable. There’s like an HP marathon every weekend and it just jumps between Bravo/E!/USA/SyFy. SyFy plays movies that have nothing to do with sci-fi. Same with the Viacom stuff to a certain extent too. Channel drift means that those stations are
