Eaaaaast bound and dowwwwnnn.... eighteen wheels a’rollin.... we gonna do what they say can’t be doooonnnee

But then you can’t ‘ZOMG FARTCAN’ it.

We need thought-controlled devices. If I’m paying an extra 10K for a churched-up Toyota Camry, it better do more than just get me from A to B.

Willys was the last name of the founder of Willys Overland. A quick trip to his Wikipedia page will show that his name was prounounced ‘Will-iss’

Yep - in fact early examples of the Wrangler had AMC stickers and other empennage on them under the hood. A few of these are in the wild but I doubt they hold any collector value other than as a curiosity.

The JK may be larger, but the overall dimensions of the TJ and especially the YJ are almost identical to a CJ7. In fact, the YJ tub almost surely used the same stampings as the CJ7 tub with a few small updates - you can easily put one on a CJ frame by adjusting the body mount points. Tops and such are direct swaps.

Am I just getting old and out of touch, or does saying ‘Merc’ for a Mercedes just seem wrong?

Merc = Mercury
Benz = Mercedes

Right?

A Guigario-designed anything would have been right at home :)

And now that I look at it again, two things:
1. The supply is only 1,000A, not 10K
2. The vise-grips are only holding the leads to the nail. I thought they were actually conducting electricity.

Where is this guy getting a power source that can push 10,000 amps? And why are those vise-grips not melting, or the leads?

I’m going to say that if a person did this, the seals/gaskets would blow out so fast and in such spectacular fashion, that what oil was in there would drain out within about 20 seconds

Please for the love of God someone un-grey me too.

A 4cyl turbo will still suck for rock crawling. You need torque at just off idle in most trail situations that don’t involve mud. 2500 is too high to make peak torque, you need it under 2K RPM, and you need a good deal of it to overcome the fact that the engine’s rotating mass is much lighter than a comparable 6 or 8.

I didn’t even realize Ken Block was such a big Trump supporter

My 2011 Ram has AC in the seats - and I didn’t even know that was a thing (especially in a pickup truck) until I test drove it. In Atlanta. In August.

You don’t need a 60K Euroluxer. You just need a Cowboy Cadillac.

Because money doesn’t buy taste or class. This is just the half-million dollar version of a 99 Civic covered in fake vents, scoops, and chrome letters from Auto Zone.

Jeeps (and other offroad capable trucks) are a bit different - you might be offroad in a situation where you need to leave the clutch engaged to prevent rolling backwards, so you can leave the clutch engaged and the starter will actually carry you uphill until the engine starts. Toyotas have a switch that lets you
