Vtec kicked in, yo

God forbid THAT thing fail

I bought a truck a couple of years ago and the ‘infotainment’ system was full of nothing but Creed AND Nickelback MP3s. I feel your pain.

My 2011 Ram 1500 has an hour meter. It’s buried in the EVIC screens but its there.

Considering you can get a CJ7 in similar shape for half that, it’s hard to stomach 8K. A nice bug-eyed FJ55 can be had for the same money and 2x the cool points.

Hehehe - every city has stereotypes and most of these types I observed I worked with at the HP factory out just north of Speedway. It was more like maybe 1 in 50 but when you encounter it it seems to be a very specific look: Crew/buzz cut, maybe a little mullet in the back, tucked in Colts jersey, driving a beat up

I lived there about 10 years ago. Unless there’s been some kind of renaissance, then I stand by my depiction of 90% of the 25-35 year old males I came across.

If it hasn’t been said already - the Dockwise Vanguard. It’s used to move Oil Derricks. Just look at how big this thing is

Meh to most of those on the list- the ‘70 SuperBee/Coronet is way angrier looking than any of these

Agreed. If I Uber’d an Indy car it would be to take me out of there as fast as possible to a town that isn’t all mustaches, mullets and wifebeaters. Oh, and Colts jerseys tucked into acid-washed jeans.

And thank God - a truck with a wing is maybe the dumbest idea in the history of trucks. Even trucks with smoke stacks are slightly less dumb.

You have to include a Trabant 501 for signalling the end of a political era if not an automotive era (other than its own produciton). Berlin wall down? We’ll be going to the West now, kthxbye

And I’m speaking of 68/69 - I know you could get a 340 in later B-body ‘muscle cars’

1968-69 Chargers could be had with the slant six as well - a rare option but odd for the muscle car era. Super Bees, GTXs and RoadRunners only came with big block V8’s - the Charger was the lone true ‘muscle car’ from Mopar that could be had with a six. And I’m not counting the Satellite/Belvedere/Coronet - they’re

The Jeep Wrangler (YJ,TJ, and JK)

The outgoing Jeep CJ (2,3,5,6,7 and 8) was a no-frills bathtub-on-wheels-with-a-torquey-I6 runabout that was used for military service and as a farm implement for almost 50 years with few real changes to the (very) basic formula. While the Wrangler carried over some parts commonality

Arguing with Autistic people on a car site. Just when I thought there were no new lows on the internet...

Honestly it does - either he’s really old or dying or something.

So many typos - I’ll never hit ‘publish’ without proofreading again.

Though the phrase ‘ahead of its time implies’ that in a later era the tech became commonplace (and this didin’t) - the Chrysler Turbine car deserves and honorable mention. For those unfamiliar with Turbine engines - they’re torque monsters. Unfortunately, they put off exhaust so hot it’ll burn your leg hairs (and a

99 percent chance this is in like Indiana, not the South. See those shaven heads? We don’t roll like that down here. I saw more racist and redneck crap in 9 months in Indiana then I have in the 38 other years on this planet spent in the South.
