He must have listned to Freebird before he went in for remodelling....

That blows. Literally. Didn’t realise it was actually a Getrag box! I just remembered them complaining about the most American car ever made having trouble with chinese made parts, and found it a bit funny consdering where things are heading.

Yeah, I left those out as I felt I’d rambled on for long enough, and because aisin and zf supply a lot of the gearboxes for the more common consumer cars, whereas a getrag would typically be in a bmw which gets hit by import tax anyway. Not sure how many factories they have in the U.S?

What I meant was, If he increases tax on all imported parts, It might be cheaper to send the parts to a Mexican factory, and just pay the import tax on the car as a whole, considering assembling it there would be cheaper compared to doing so in th U.S.

Not just that. If you do get out of the trade agreements, and add taxes to imported parts because China, think about this:

Alternative facts prove that the Ncap only scored two stars against the best ever, most world beating Mustang. Because of this, Ncap has been permanently banned from Cars & Coffee. Mustangs are free to continue slaying crowds at will.

More and more, it’s looking like a Faraway Future.

I see why it’s tempting. But watching your windscreen crack can make you feel the pain all the way to your wallet.. :(

The noice from the studs is horrendous, yes. Now that I no longer work as a night driver, I run a miata with studless winters. Due to the suft rubber it’s actually quieter than the summer tires. Or at least I can’t hear the tires above the broken wheel bearing.

My mum has had one for 10 years now. It’s been much better than her Land Rover...

The reason it happens is because the screen is two layers of glass, separated by a film of plastic. If one layer heats up faster than the other, it expands differently and the coldest layer will crack. I’ve cracked the outside layer on a cold (-25) winter day, with my heater set to full. The ice from the melting snow

Actually, anything with snow tires beats 4wd without.

I have a standard reply for people like that:

“buy a Pontiac Phoenix”

I don’t see what the confusion is all about?

Main issue really, is without warm air from the heater, your breath will make the windscreen fog and freeze over. It’s a bit colder where i live though.

If she’s not, My lincoln mkiii just became a subcompact...

Now playing

Ah, the black pearl. Marko Flemming who runs a cheap car rally called “Rust To Rome” owns that. There’s quite a few pictures of it, now running throttle bodies on instagram.

It would be good, yes. Have a corkscrew, sir.
