Hm, this is a harsh characterization. Smash is probably my favorite video game, in part, because of what you’re criticizing. When I play, I’m a monster shit-talker (see: my live streams vs. Gizmodo). Part of the game is puffing yourself up like a big shitty bird and blustering around with your inflated shitty ego. I

Marry her...oh, nvm.

She was not wrong.

My wife and I briefly checked out Bioware’s Star Wars MMO some time back. When I asked her what faction she’d like to play, she chose the Empire because “they get cooler coats.”

Ghost in the Shell: Arise is a different adaptation and should be ignored in your comparisons.

Where do all these Ghost in the Shell experts that complain about the ethnicity of The Major even come from? I don’t think that many saw the film, read the manga or watched Stand Alone Complex.

Are you trying to be a smart ass about how an artificial body literally doesn’t have a race or are you trying to argue, like so many people try, that an anime character doesn’t “look” asian enough so they must be white?

well you can believe whatever you want but according to the publisher and author/illustrator of the manga she’s not Asian.

in which she’s still not Asian.

That may be a judgement better made after actual trailers and not 5 second teasers.

they’re not.

yes, and kind of. if you watch and read enough GITS you’ll know that there’s a mix of Asian and non-Asian people in the setting of the series. she’s meant to blend in, not blend in with a specific race.

go watch Rurouni Kenshin, Patlabor, and Death Note and then come back.

been there done that. no amount of facts can fix stupid.

Motoko’s cybernetic body isn’t Asian, it’s never been Asian.

well it certainly looks like Ghost in the Shell. that’s a good sign.

It looks promising. They have the aesthetic of the world down. Scarjo can easily be a good Major, if the script works out well. Nice diverse casting too, so while I see why people are up in arms about a white woman in an asian female lead role, we can at least see how it plays out.

That is a gif, can’t you see her mouth moving?

“Who gave you permission to remove your helmet?”
