They DID do something about it way back in Season 2 (back when the show was still good). Annie got over Jeff and decided to move on. They dropped it until the hacks in Season 4 brought it back up for no good reason.

I find it incomprehensible that people would keep watching the show after the study group re-enrolled in Greendale right after they all discussed how their lives were complete failures due to the fact that Greendale didn't educate the properly.
