There are far easier ways to do that, like -I don’t know- selling Trump merchandise. Gamers are too hard to please.

The developer Fntastic has a history of hyping games and abandon them. When I learned about this I was actually surprised that this game came out in any shape or form.
As someone who played a dead live-service game called Gigantic, I can assure you that it can happen. The company that developed it was on death’s door when it launched it.
No question they deserve backlash for the shitshow their game turned out to be, but the response by some YouTubers, Xers, has been way over the top. Guys, you’re getting refunded for this mess, what’s all this hatred? That post the “shit happens” was replying to had too much bile for what all of this is.
O + 4 = S
12/7 wait, this game exists?
Seriously, if you’re an award show, make at least some minimal effort to act like it. The Superbowl is also an expensive advertising event, but without a game to put in between, they have little excuse for it.
And the ones that aren’t sequels are rehashes of older games. Metaphor Re Fantazio is Persona in a fantasy setting, Light No Fire is No Man’s Sky without the planets.
I agree, Dredge, a fantastic debut game, should have won.
You have to admit Kojima is a master marketer. In the middle of this hose of games with loud music, flashy scenes, and formulaic graphics (specially the style I’ll describe as Geshin-Impact core), you see this absolutely weird trailer that stood out above the rest.
Alan Wake 2 won a pile of awards, including writing and art direction. It got what it deserved.
Best debut game given to Cocoon, a game that was done by developers with a very recognizable, award-winning pedigree, beating Venba, a game that was truly the developer’s debut game.
Arrrrr matey, raise the jolly roger.
Look, I like the show, but I can’t in good conscience recommend it to someone that has never been exposed to the comics nor the movie (I know quite a few who haven’t). Why? I think they’ll miss out why the plot twist at the end of the first episode is indeed a plot twist. This is not a good way to start your…
A lot of people criticize Resident Evil 4 for being a remake, but the refresh to me is more impressive than Spiderman 2, which is in its core, the same game of 2018, but with a new coat of paint.
Leaving No Man’s Sky out of Best Continuing game was totally a snub. It’s an award they have won before, and this year had probably their best updates.
And Dave The Diver is not an indie game, it only looks like one.
Planet of Lana was an excellent puzzle platformer that should have been nominated this year.
The BAFTAs shocked the gaming world when they gave Vampire Survivors the GOTY, and I couldn’t agree more. Vampire Survivors was pretty much the Steam Deck’s killer app at launch. It’s what Halo was to the Xbox.
It’s like saying the Oscars couldn’t nominate Ben Hur because there was a silent film before it. The remake of West Side story was nominated for the Oscar. The Departed, a remake of Infernal Affairs, won the Oscar.
