Call of Duty: MWWZ, with the inclusion of Scrapyard, is getting one step closer to the MW2 remastered we were waiting for. Add to it Rust, and two MW1 maps that were playable in MW2 (Vacant, Crash). I think Terminal is in the pipeline, and they have assets to build Afghan, Skidrow and Highrise.

Could readers please post in the comments any screenshots of racist nicknames or clantags you run into today? As for me, I am tired of asking them to ban the incendiary [TRUMP] and [MAGA] clantags. 

Many of those companies have black employees, so don’t be surprised if they’re the audience.

The biggest hypocrites are Activision/Blizzard, first they show contempt for the protests in Hong Kong, second, Call of Duty has been ignoring requests to ban racist usernames and clantags since the release of Modern Warfare.

Luke, here’s a scoop: Call of Duty pulls this stunt to show “solidarity”, yet they have been allowing racist usernames and clantags in Modern Warfare. The petitions to do something about it have been popping up in their subreddit since launch. This puts in question the sincerity of their message.

For you, as for me who hates anime, the only anime that makes the cut is Castlevania on Netflix. The dialog, the pace, the writing, it’s all your prayers answered. I can’t recommend a show more, anime or not.

Count me as one of the people who don’t like anime. There are some specific things that I don’t like about it, so for me to like these shows, they have to avoid the criteria of the stuff I dislike about anime, regardless of story:

The loot in those bunkers is... underwhelming. Why not have a killstreak in it, like an AC-130 to rain down hell from your bunker, or a juggernaut suit (maybe fight a juggernaut NPC to get his suit), or guaranteed grenade launchers (they show up at random anyways, like the keycards). There must be a ton of cool ideas…

Come on people, it’s canon that the best THPS soundtrack song ever is Superman by Goldfinger.

This game has the foundations for a game that can be maintained for the long haul. Crossplay and free map packs to keep the playerbase together, different game modes, at least one of them F2P, and plenty of room for improvement. The only thing that can torpedo the game’s longevity is the yearly release schedule.

I disagree with that a bit. I enjoy testing new guns and features of this game in classic maps, and I want this to be the Call of Duty to end all Call of Duties, so collecting great maps from other games is very welcome. If they bring most of the MW2 maps, and MW3 maps MW2019 will be the definitive multiplayer of the franchise. I prefer this overwhelmingly over splitting multiplayer games.

Why not? Retail stores in New York are using space to open coffee shops (I have seen Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers doing it). Barnes and Noble are letting people use space for tabletop games. I think Gamestop has an opportunity to use their spaces as VR, streaming, and LAN party spots. People would pay for it.

I must be the only person absolutely disappointed with the character design of this remake (except Red XIII). I can barely look at the trio of Cloud/Tifa/Aeris sporting exactly the same pointy face and shapeless body.

I guess we’ll all be playing Call of Duty until the PS5 and the Xbox X-something come out. That’s the only game we know for sure never gets delayed every year.

My Game of the Decade is Skyrim, but the one that could have been is Kentucky Route Zero. Kentucky Route Zero transported me to a magical-realist world that I didn’t want to leave, unfortunately, it’s closing chapter wasn’t released in the 2010s, and I hope it will be released this decade.
