What drove me off console is the $60-year tax to play online, and risking that the next generation will not be backwards compatible, leaving you stuck with a bunch of old hardware in the house (until emulation makes it all playable on one single PC).
Not to mention that the race for game exclusivity is going to increase the prices of games. This is not competition, it’s monopolizing intelectual property.

It’s not competition since they are not on a level-playing field. What they are doing is acquiring a monopoly of properties so they actually don’t have to compete.
The current disaster of the PC launchers is also happening to streaming. This results in less competition, not more.
