LMP1 cars are only slower because of the differing rule books (min. weights, downforce limits, etc.). At Spa F1 is only 0.27 sec faster than the unrestricted Porsche 919 Evo. Granted still slower, but comparing spec F1 cars to spec LMP1 cars is apples and oranges.

Did you not read the beginning of the sentence? If the owner already had this repaired, it would have been done under warranty and at no cost to the customer. There’s nothing to reimburse.
