Oh no annoyance taken - and frankly compared to Trumpistan Canada is kind of a bastion of progressive values at the moment... I just know we can be better :)

And no financiers/brokers/money guys AT ALL!
Yes. HL but couched in much more progressive rhetoric (and *some* actions, to be fair), but that’s what bothers me the most about Trudeau et al., the corporate schilling is revolting.
I’m about half and half on their record. I’m a fed so I see it in action, I’d say I like about half what the Liberals have done (and I’m not a “liberal” voter, I’m way more fringe - the NDP went too far to the right for me under Mulcair). Anyway, I do think that while a lot of the Cabinet is strong, the Ministers do…
Yeah I should probably stop bitching when Americans are in the room :) He’s not bad at all, I just want more, there’s too much Liberal gamesmanship going on (they’re *very* industry and money friendly and I would be thrilled for that aspect of Trudeau’s government to just be gone - can we puh-leeze actually become…
Yeah, there’s other stuff you can shame him for (but I can’t do it at work, hint hint), but being a teacher is not one of them. That said, from what I’ve heard, he wasn’t a particularly *great* teacher...
He was a bit of a slack teacher though... And he does (or at least did, from what I know of him around town) kind of try and let his charm carry the day for him... I don’t think he’s substance-*less*, but I do think he’s overrated...
This. People completely underestimate the simple but critical benefits of staying away from the office for a few days to just recharge. I took 3 weeks last spring because of health and asshole boss issues (was magical), but even a long weekend can completely reset you to deal with just the ordinary stressors... And…
I know, I’m in Canada too and after 8 years I finally got 4 weeks holiday. I’m currently at almost 11 years, and I think at 15 I get another 2-1/2 days? It’s total horseshit.
But what happened to Gen Y then? I thought it was boomer, x, y, millenial (and now apparently there’s something along the lines of digital age babies, they’ve never even seen analog electronics, let alone used one).
I thought you guys were gen Y? I’m a young gen-Xer (I’m 42 - I was a tween while all the “real” gen-Xers were getting all grungy and dirty and miserable), and my partner is 6 years younger - but I would never have classified him as a millenial, I thought those started in the late 80s early 90s...
Ha, your “gender condemning” is inadvertently more apt than not :)
It’s too bad people aren’t taught to reason or think critically anymore...
Thanks, I don’t usually engage to that degree but holy smokes was there ever a lot of apologism going around...
I am a parent, but before that I was an educator and a world traveller and a graduate student and a public health policy wonk. I know a fair amount, but I definitely don’t know “best”, that’s why I *gasp* do resesarch, and learn from and defer to the goddamn experts. If all the mouthbreathers out there who procreate…
And they’re not shy about expressing them. Mine is half Shepherd half lab (met her parents, there are no questions), and she is super vocal - talks back too when I make her do something she doesn’t want to do, lots of sub-vocalizations and grumbles. I figure it’s preparing me for when my 4 year old daughter turns into…
And they have each other - pets need friends too! :)
And everybody keeps religion-splaining to me about protocol - I’m not talking about protocol and I don’t care (it’s all mummery and showmanship). But at it’s fundament, it’s about oppressive religious dictates that target women, so what’s sauce for the gander (Islam) should be sauce for the goose (Christianity). This…
Wow, you’re charming! And the logical inconsistencies are rather breathtaking.
The pope is a head of state (Vatican City) who meets with other heads of state in secular ceremonies. There was nothing “religious” about this visit...
