10 pitches is not a lot for 5 at bats. Especially if one was an intentional walk with 4 pitches there (without him doing anything). That means in his 4 other at bats he only saw 1.5 pitches per AB.

I think it also depends on the type, and, more importantly, size of the bread. If we're talking about wider potato bread, you need 2 slices, 1.5 min. Normal white bread needs 1.5 slices, always.
