To be fair, they did have the girls take Mary away for a drink at the end—which struck me as appropriate.

It’s true, it’s sad. But think of it this way, we have the opportunity for a baking show on the BBC with Mary, Mel and Sue and a player to be named later (Nadiya?) and GBBO on Ch4 with Paul, possibly Richard Ayoade and a Mary replacement like Delia, Prue Leith or someone like that.

You could probably make a case out of the idea that the use of “mulatto” reflects poorly on her character.

I find it really odd that the UK are getting mad at this. They had a popular teen tv show (Skins). Where they put on a play pretty much mocking Sept 11th. It was pretty uncomfortable to watch. I’m not bitching on Twitter about it.

I’ve noticed from seeing various standup comedians that most shows are focused on “trying out new material;” they can be very hit-or-miss. If you want to see your favorite comedian in a polished, laugh-a-minute performance, it’s best to see a show that is being filmed for an HBO special.

It’s not just you, that makes at least two of us that thought the last season went downhill. And I’m an Amy fan.
